Mai's time with us

This year we heard from friends who had hosted a Japanese student the summer before.
Since Cathi is studying Japanese, she liked the idea, and we all agreed it would be a fun thing to try.

Tokyo Joshi Gakuen high school for girls has arranged a program with families in our area.
The bundle of energy who coordinates this program for Skagit County is Terri Springer.
She contacted us, and we were matched with a student named Mai.
We emailed her and sent photos, and waited until she would arrive in July.

Little did we know that we would fall in love with Mai after she arrived! She fit into our home, captured our hearts, and took a part of us back to Japan with her. We have been corresponding with her and her family, and have adopted them as our extended family! We are sure thankful for email and the postal service! We hope to visit the Shioda family in Japan someday. And we look forward to having them come to the US again sometime!

The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and kind in all His deeds!
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth!
