In October, Kirk and Matt started putting up the roof trusses. Shortly after, we had a theft--someone stole some roofing materials, and a plastic box containing our houseplans and building permit! How rude!!!
We planted a lawn mix on our hillside to prevent erosion of the soft soil during the upcoming winter rains. I went out each day to water the hillside by hand--it was a wonderful opportunity to do some reading at the same time!

Cathi and her new friends, Huie, Dewey, Louie, Jasmine, Daisy, and Qui Gon Finn, and their mom, Puffball.
The ducks are learning tricks! Louie will "speak" when Cathi tells him to, and Dewey and the others will take a flying leap for a piece of bread!
