Christi turned 19 this year! This spring we graduated Christi from our homeschool program. She and her best friend graduated in front of a crowd of homeschooling families involved in our homeschool co-op. See photos here. The wore caps and gowns from Jostens and received a diploma, as well! Our homeschooling friends were inspired to think that they could make it all the way, too!

During her last year homeschooling, she also started Running Start, a Washington state program that allows a high school student to complete their last two years of high school while getting their AA degree at a local college – and it’s free! She is working toward an AA in music, with the ambition of working with the music ministry at a church, and teaching music lessons from her home while she homeschools her children someday. The Running Start program is a lot of work, but she is enjoying most of it. She’s taking intensive classes in music now, as well as singing in two choirs and taking voice lessons. She’s excited, however, looking toward spring! Jazz Choir she’s part of has been invited to sing in Carnagie Hall in NYC! The group is doing fund-raising to get the funds for the students to make the trip.

She loves to spend time with her friends in the dorm, as well, when she’s not working at Red Robin! She works as hostess, and loves working with the customers as she seats them!
