Cathi is 17 years old, and continuing her homeschooling program. She is continuing her study of the Japanese language at home (her teacher moved out of town). In addition, she spends much time working on her drawing, and has been learning how to turn her pencil drawings into Photoshop art! We have a graphic artist in the making! To support that, she took a class through the Running Start program, a distance course on Adobe Illustrator, learning to make vector graphics of the sort used in professional graphic design. It was a challenge, but she disciplined herself and completed the course in good time, and aced it! In addition to her other academic studies, she and her friend are intensively planning a book they hope to write together, taking much time planning the details of the plot, the characters and their development, the history of their world, even hoping to create a language for the characters! In the process of this work, they are making independent studies of botany, astronomy, biology, and many other areas! They have basically created their own unit study!
